The wages of sin are death. Everything we work for, everything we care about, everything we in this world strive toward... it all ends with death. Death is your pay for all your "hard work" in the world. There is no way around it. Payday will come. There is only one solution - we must allow Jesus to take us off the payroll. Time is short, however. Payday is Friday; it creeps up on the knowledgable and the unsuspecting alike. We must leave before our wage is received, we must leave before Friday, we must... Leave Thursday.
::HISTORY::
In February of 2004, friends Daniel (drums), Brianna (bass/vox) and Dave (guitar/vox) played a praise and worship set during an intermission in a Christian battle of the bands. The musical connection was so strong that in March 2004, they asked soundtech Jess to join, and Leave Thursday was born.
In June of 2004, Daniel announced his intentions to move, and so the band slowly transitioned between drummers. They played a gig or two with a drummer named Ben, but finally decided to ask drummer Chris into the band. In November, Chris left the band to pursue other opportunities, and Leave Thursday appeared to be all but finished.
However, in March of 2005, the band met Joe (drums) through a mutual friend. Soon Joe was playing for the church praise team, and quickly thereafter, he was asked to join Leave Thursday. Literally days after adding Joe to the fold, Leave Thursday spoke with Trevor (guitar), a musician that was originally being courted to play drums for the band, and Trevor agreed to come onboard to play rhythm guitar. Suddenly, Leave Thursday was alive again, and played a flurry of gigs throughout the central KS area.
Summer 2005 proved to be another change of personnel for the band, as Trevor left the band to move to Kansas City, and Jess decided to take a hiatus to pursue her education in Lawrence.
Today, Leave Thursday is a powerhouse trio featuring Dave on guitar, keyboard and vocals, Brianna on bass and backup vocals, and Joe on drums and percussion. The band has also been very pleased to work with guitarist Caleb from time to time, allowing him to fill in some instrumental depth to the band.
